The Caboose is an actual train car used on local railroad tracks. It was brought into camp in the 1990's and is used to house 8 campers. The Pumpkin was one of the first uniquely shaped cabins at Story Book Lodge. It sleeps 12 campers. The Shoe fits Story Book well as a cabin that sleeps 9 children. This was built in the early 1990's. Newspaper Article The Green Gables is nestled into the deep woods at Story Book. This cozy cabin houses 6 campers comfortably. The 7 Dwarfs cabin sits on the edge of a ravine at the edge of camp. This quiet cabin is home to 10 campers during the summer months. The Barn consists of the Stables, the North Mow, and the South Mow. This is one of the larger cabins and corrals around 30 campers. The Loft offers a unique bird's eye view of camp. The Loft holds up to 10 campers. The Den and Lair are two cabins in the same building. Many senior campers remember fondly the former restroom facilities located below this cabin. Combined, these cabins hold 18 campers. Lakeside North and Lakeside South are located just a few yards from Cedar Island Lake. The history of this cabin began when a dining hall was built in the 1960s. This facility fed thousands of campers until the new dining hall was built. It was then converted into the Lakeside cabins. Together they hold 25 campers. The Dream House is a favorite among girls. This charming cabin has a fireplace and a loft. This houses around 8 campers. The Oasis was formerly a restroom for years. When the Kings Court was built, this facility was no longer needed, so it was converted into a great spacious cabin. This houses 12 campers. Kings Court was built in the mid 1990s and has been a great multi-use building. It houses a dorm in the lower level and a number of apartments on the main level. The camp office, gym, and restrooms are also located in this building. The Lodge is one of the original buildings at Story Book Lodge. It is currently used for counselors meetings.
