Story Book Reflections
By Don & Vi McLellan
9/13/97
At Honeymoon's close in 51
When our lives together had just begun
Our privilege and joy was to visit the Lodge
Namely StoryBook and its entourage
Though numbers were small, the spirit was keen
God's gracious ways were everywhere seen
Elizabeth's love was displayed by her care
For children whose background was security bare
We found Uncle Ben with his campers 18
Exploring the island, a sight to be seen
Reminding our hearts that a labor of love
Has a seal of approval from our God above
The memories are many, among them a few
That stand out as highlights from which camp grew
Those early days when family camp met
Using Elizabeth's home where tables were set
Communion with saints was ever so sweet
Including the games where we would compete
The word of the Lord we would mutually share
To encourage each other in God's loving care
In later years we have witnessed the grace
Of all those involved to maintain this place
Repair and construction, a use of their skill
Is shown in the handiwork, a result of their will
Additional thanks is extended to all
Who by God's grace have heeded the call
To be used by Him in so many ways
To the Lord above be all the praise
Prayer warriors, directors, and givers we prize
With workers, counselors, and committees so wise
We bow in thanksgiving to the Lord above
Whose ways are seen in this display of love
The rewards of StoryBook are continually told
In souls saved that have entered the fold
Of the Great Shepherd, who keeps His own
The result of the precious seed that was sown
This labor of love is accompanied by
A work of faith that cannot die
A patience of hope has its view beyond
Great is thy Faithfulness, we would respond
